The project is unique in that  the space was designed with the specific intention of housing a post WWII art collection of conceptual and minimalist artists, many of whom shared the opinion that their work should be permanently housed in spaces intentionally designed for their work. To honor this concept was of primary importance in the design of this space. The cutting edge Libeskind design echoes the aesthetic of the work of this period.
